About Tampa Sewing Machine
We are a family run repair shop in Clearwater. Sewing machines are what we do all day, every working day.
Our family has been working on sewing machines for more than 65 years. The trade was passed down at the bench, one machine at a time, and today more than one generation works in the shop. In that time we have seen almost every kind of machine that comes through a door in Florida.
We started when most homes had a machine in the corner and most towns had a factory with rows of them. That has changed, but the work has not. A machine still needs to be clean, oiled, timed and set right before it will sew the way it should. That is what we do, on home machines and on industrial machines that run all day.
We are an independent shop. We do not represent any manufacturer and we do not push you toward a new machine. Many machines built years ago are better made than what is sold today, and they are worth keeping. When a repair does not make sense, we say so, and we help you find a good used machine instead.
If it uses a needle and thread to sew, we repair it. Home machines, industrial machines, embroidery machines, sergers, quilting machines and antiques.

Plain Talk
We explain what is wrong in words that make sense, without technical talk. Ask us to go over it twice if you like. We do not mind.
Free Estimates
We look at the machine and tell you the cost first. Nothing gets billed until you say yes.
Respect for Old Machines
A machine that is dusty, rusty or sixty years old is normal here. There is nothing to be embarrassed about.
Tested Before Pickup
Every machine we repair is sewn on before it goes back to you, so we know it runs before you take it home.
