Why The Villages calls us
Most of what we see here is a well-loved home machine that has quietly gone out of adjustment over years of steady use. Timing drifts, feed dogs wear, and tension springs lose their bite. There are also plenty of longarms in garages and club rooms that have never had a real service. If a club wants several machines looked at, we would rather come to you than have a dozen people drive 95 miles, so call (727) 321-9344 and we will organize a visit.
Common repairs here

- Antique treadles and Featherweights brought down from a family home up north

Questions from The Villages customers
Our club has nine machines that need attention. Can you handle that?
Yes. Group visits are the sensible way to serve a community 95 miles from our bench. Set the machines up in one room and we work through them in order.
I inherited a treadle machine. Can it be made to sew again?
Very often it can. The head usually just needs the old oil broken loose, new belt, and re-timing, and the cabinet ironwork can be cleaned up. Bring it down or have us look at it during a club visit before you decide what to do with it.
Is my machine worth repairing?
Often, yes. Machines built years ago were made with metal parts and they last. Many of the ones we see just need a good cleaning, fresh oil and an adjustment. We look at it first and tell you what it needs and what it costs. If the repair costs more than the machine is worth, we say so and you decide.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Estimates are free. Bring the machine to the shop, we will look at it, and we will tell you the cost before any billed work is done.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Come by Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and drop the machine off. If you would rather call first, the number is (727) 321-9344.
Is your machine giving you trouble?
Call and tell us what it is doing. The estimate is free and you do not need the model number.
