Computerized Sewing Machine Repair

Error codes, screens, motors and boards, diagnosed honestly.

A computerized machine that flashes a code is usually reporting something mechanical, not something electronic. A jam in the hook area, a stiff needle bar, a tired motor or a dirty sensor will all show up as a code on the screen. We start with the machine, not the guesswork, and we tell you plainly when a board is the problem and when it is not.

What the service includes

  • Error codes read and traced to the sensor, motor or jam behind them
  • Main motor, stepper motors and drive belts tested under load
  • Needle position, stitch width and buttonhole sensors checked
  • Touchscreen and button panel response tested and connections reseated
  • Power supply, foot control and wiring harnesses checked
  • Full mechanical service, since most codes come from the mechanics
  • Straight answer on whether a replacement board is still available

Problems we fix every week

If it uses a needle and thread to sew, we repair it. Home machines, industrial machines, embroidery machines, sergers, quilting machines and antiques.

An error code shows on the screen and it will not clear

The screen is dark but the sewing light still comes on

The touchscreen does not respond where I press it

The needle will not move to the position I select

It beeps and stops in the middle of a stitch pattern

The motor runs slow no matter what speed I choose

It forgets my settings every time I turn it off

The buttonhole cycle starts and never finishes

The thread cutter button does nothing

It worked fine until the power flickered during a storm

How a repair works

  1. Write down the code

If the screen shows a number or a message, write it down before you unplug the machine. It saves diagnostic time and it is often the whole clue.

  2. Mechanical first, electronic second

We check the hook area, needle bar, feed and motors before we consider a board. Most codes clear once the mechanical cause is fixed.

  3. Free estimate with a real answer

If a board or screen is no longer made, we say so up front. Chasing a part that does not exist is not a repair, and we will not bill you for it.

  4. Test through the features

We run the stitch patterns, needle positions, buttonhole cycle and speed range so the machine is checked the way you use it.

Common questions

Can you replace a circuit board?

When a board is still available, yes. Many older boards are out of production and nobody has them. We check availability before you spend anything, and we tell you the answer either way.

Is my error code serious?

Usually not. Most codes mean the machine detected resistance, a jam, or a sensor it cannot read. Once the mechanical cause is cleared the code goes away. Call (727) 321-9344 with the code and we will tell you what we think, free.

Do computerized machines still need cleaning and oil?

Yes, and skipping it is what puts most of them on our bench. The computer controls a mechanical machine. Lint and dry bearings make the motors work harder until something reports a fault.

Do you update software on machines?

We are a repair shop, not a dealer, so we do not distribute manufacturer software. We do check that the machine behaves correctly through all of its functions after a repair.

Is your machine giving you trouble?

Call and tell us what it is doing. The estimate is free and you do not need the model number.
